Meerkats Out and About

Term 2 was a happy time for our Meerkats – Gardening and First Aid badges, two Regional Events and an outing.

Mob Day (so named because a group of Meerkats is a Mob, apparently) had Meerkats from all over the Region engaged on fun activities at 1st Strand. It was very interesting to go do a different Group’s Hall and grounds and see all the scarves and meet Meerkats.

In April we attended our third Meerkat Kon-tiki event, engaging in games and races. The wind blew, but everyone kept their hats on.

At our last meeting, we visited Keurboom Park, transformed into a Meerkat Wonderland on a sunny winter’s morning. At Adventureland they forded rivers, found out how many Meerkats could hug a tree, listened to frogs and solved a clue on the bench plaques about dogs. At Fairyland, they made little doors – so pretty – and at Codeland they broke a code and found a geocache – but we can’t show that photo!
