The third quarter has been eventful: we have been able to go back to live scouting, with meetings at the hall, as well as hikes and scouting competitions. The return to scouting ‘IRL’ has been met with enthusiasm by our scouts: read up about how it feels to be back at scouts here. Our senior scouts have started on their advancements with some exciting hikes – here and here and here. Hiking is truly an integral part of the 1st Claremont culture – as the scouters themselves confirmed.
And we celebrated the return to live competitions with the Upton Shield competition. Four teams from 1st Claremont were entered and we are delighted that we won – for the first time since 1994! Read all about it here and here – and have a look at the photos! We also celebrated our two Springbok scouts at the annual Springbok Dinner.
Big news is the launch of a Meerkat den – and for Cubs getting back to the Hall!
Sadly, the third quarter saw one of our former scouts ‘Go Home’. We end with some ‘admin’ notes from our Committee; and as always, the troop scouter’s Reflections.
