Meerkats camp “under the sea”

On the weekend of 9-10 October, our Meerkats took up a national challenge to go camping “under the sea”. Along with 119 Meerkats countrywide, they involved their families in an overnight camp at home with many exciting activities in between and regular meet-ups on Zoom. For half of our Den, this was their second camp. The newer Meerkats were learning how to pack their kit, pitch a tent or make a fort, and cook outside. There were also special fishy menus to make and delicious meals were created. In off moments, the Meerkats made aquariums, looked at the stars and made marshmallow constellations, did sand art and played fishing games. Cleaning up, tidying up and breaking camp were also skills to learn. We are sure the parents and grandparents had as much fun as the Meerkats did. When asked about what he liked best, little Zane said “Meeting others in the Zooms.” Jamborees here we come!
