It’s been a long time since we have been able to hold a cub camp, and we were really happy to take a big group of cubs to Hawequas Scout Campsite this year for a joint camp between the 1st Claremont and 4th Claremont packs. Elton le Roux ran the camp to complete his cub camping certificate.
The theme of the camp was Star Trek and the cubs earned the Skies badge, building a model of the solar system, and learning about the stars thanks to visiting astronomers who brought telescopes to Hawequas. They also earned their Geologist badge thanks to a resident geologist and cub parent, Lindsay.
Later in the camp, the scout helpers became blue-haired visitors from another planet, and this taught the cubs about interacting with others with respect.
