Kestrels Termly Report
It has been a very prosperous term for the Kestrels Company, where we excelled past all other Claremont Corporations once again (reader is advised not to look at the MOSCIP scores). We would like to preface this article with unfortunate news: there has been an enormous drop in shares prices following the recent departure of New Guy and valued Kestrels employee, Will. The Kestrels Company wishes him well in all his future endeavours in Italy, and hope he may bring them some of the light he shone in Kestrels. We hope the work experience gained in the Company will serve him well.
This term was a good one for the Company. We had many excellent events, including a Cooks meal run by Head of Common Sense, Juliet. Word from Head Executive Terence Ievers is that she did an excellent job. Big Boss James held an enlightening discussion on religion with the other employees so it can be added to his CV as he applies for a higher position of Springbok within the Company. There was also one particular meeting we had that must be mentioned: Big Boss James was seen hanging from a ceiling with a pan in one hand and a gas stove in the other. This pancake was later doused in Kestrels Company officially endorsed Oros (not sponsored (but should be). This pancake was then served to the higher ups at HQ and deemed ‘adequate’, which all of the employees should be thoroughly proud of.
It was a fantastic term for the Kestrels Company, and I would like to extend my gratitude to the employees for putting their heart and soul into every STA, HR-cleared catapult and every heave to get the table into the rafters. We have lots to look forward to on the calendar – joint troop activities and fundraising to hire a new penguin employee. Thank you for everything, the management team can’t wait to see what you pull out the hat next term.
– James Webb
Juliet’s Cooks Meal
We rushed from the Kon-Tiki Prebuild to make it to Juliet’s house in time to get started with her meal. It was a three course meal that was later presented to a judge to prove how much Juliet had learnt about leading a team of cooks and also her cooking skills in general on Cooks Interest. The menu was flatbreads with three different dips, chicken stroganoff (with mushroom alternatives for local vegetarian, Anjali), Eton Mess for dessert and way too much lemonade.

The day was a little bit stressful because of the looming loadshedding that arrived at 4 and ended at 6 (even though we were serving at just past 6…). Luckily with the help of a gas stove and some very good time management on Juliet’s part everything worked out in the end – the meringues were crispy, the flatbread was cooked and the chicken was flavourful. Everybody in attendance had a great time, and Terence (the judge) told us between stories that he was suitably impressed.
