Oliver gets wet on a First Class hike

We started at Teresa Avenue in Camps Bay and finished at Constantia Nek.  It was Alex Clark’s First Class Hike and we were a group of four people.  The weather was sunny with a few clouds but lots of fog up higher in the mountain.  Along the way we found a cool cave and we had a break.  Later on we entered the fog and it got really cold as we got further but the surroundings looked amazing.  There was no sign of civilization and you could only see 20m in front of you.  The rest of the hike was rather easy and it was really cool to see the mist condensation on the plants.  We arrived at the scout hut at about 6pm and made food and then went to bed. 

We got up at 6am and then left again at about 7 or 8am.  It was really cold and we still couldn’t see much and it was raining which made it worse.  This part of the hike was quite hard but there were tons of King Proteas which were really pretty.  We stopped at a cave which was really cool and then carried on with the hike which was still super cold until the fog started to clear.  We went the wrong way but managed to come right.  The rest of the hike was uneventful until we got to a marker in a small forested area.  We were running out of time so ran the rest of the way and made it down by half past two.  I had fun.
